Application Closing Date: June 30, 2026. All digital or physical application packages must reach the ifa office by this strict cutoff.
Review and Selection Period: July to November 2026.
Fellowship Commencement: February 2027 onward. The actual placement period takes place throughout the 2027 calendar year.
Mandatory Eligibility Criteria
This program targets established professionals rather than undergraduate students. Applicants must meet the following baseline conditions :
Eligible Nationalities: Must be a citizen of a developing or transitioning country listed on the official DAC list.
Professional Background: Must work actively as a curator, restorer, museum conservator, archivist, or cultural manager.
Host Institution Agreement: Applicants must independently secure an official commitment or acceptance letter from a non-commercial museum or cultural institution in Germany before applying.
